A holistic approach to
lifestyle, overeating and stress.

Our minds and bodies are amazingly complex systems. Like all living systems, nothing exists in isolation, and changes in one part of the system will influence other parts. At the VIJO Wellness Clinic, we believe that nurturing and healing must be approached on a holistic level. Our work, our relationships, our stressors and our behaviour, including our eating behaviour, exist as a whole, influencing each other. And the whole of who we are is far, far greater than the sum of the parts.

Our mission at the VIJO Wellness Clinic is to combine traditional Western medical practices with Functional Medicine in three connected areas: holistic lifestyle, mindful eating for overeaters and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). As part of our holistic approach to these three areas, we create an emphasis on the prevention and treatment of unhealthy living through the prescription of nutritional and herbal supplements and focusing on the following:

  • nutrition and diet
  • exercise
  • therapeutic diets
  • detoxification programs
  • stress management techniques

Our transformative workshops and courses are offered on a regular basis to offer you ongoing support as you bring your life into balance. Our weekly support groups can bring you closer together with those who are also transforming their lives and reaching for a balanced, healthy approach to living. Join us to align your life by eating healthily, reducing stress and living holistically.

Functional Medicine

Functional medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century.By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.

Functional medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
